I wish you a merily Christmas

I wish you a merry Christmas and a good and happy new year
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas time and that your wishes may become real

Too many people just think on Christmas gifts that they will buy for all their friends
But I’d like to tell you that Christmas is more than a parcel under a tree
Christmas reminds us on that time when God father has given us his own son
Who lived among us and who has saved the world from the certain damnation.

Maybe you think every year it’s the same everyone has good wishes but, in the end,
nothing will change you go on with your path and every year seams harder for you
I would like to tell you that you need not do worry do not desperate because there is hope for you
Because Jesus can help you to finding a new life that is the message of the Christmas time

1. Christmas is approaching. Sister, could you tell our audiences what is the significance of the twelve days of Christmas in Christian tradition? Cause many audiences from Aisa actually they don’t really know why we have a Christmas day to celebrate.

In Christmas we celebrate first of all the birth of Jesus Christ.

He was in heaven before with his father Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jakob.

Then he came down as a little child to earth for to solve the problem of sins. He grew up and when he was around 30 years old, he began to preach about repentance and the kingdom of God.

Since religious authority was jealous, they crucified him. But with his death, he paid the price of sin for us, as the scripture says: The price of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ.

When we repent and receive Jesus Christ, we can have peace with God and all our sins are washed away.

Jesus was born in a stable in Betlehem, because there was no place in the hostel for his parents when the time to give birth to Jesus came. It was a virgin birth, because his real father was God and the Holy Spirit produced the baby. So Jesus was human being and God at the same time. And he was the only one on earth who was without sin and able to pay the price for it.

In the night in Betlehem were Angels on the field who said: Glory to God in heaven and peace to the humans on earth and there were pastors, who went to worship the newborn baby. Later came wise men from Asia, to worship him, too and to give him presents.

This is why many would like to have a peaceful Christmas and why people give Christmas presents away to the people around them.

2. Also from your creation view, how does the song describe the arrival of Jesus Christ into the world?

The song describes the hope, that we can get, in case we deliver our life over to Jesus. Many of us suffer, that every year we have the same things, there are few positive changes and so one. But when we receive Jesus as our savior, he can change our life and give us joy into our heart and meaning to our life, so that there will be a before and an after.

3. We usually decorate the Christmas tree. How do you usually choose the small items on the Christmas tree? What do these decorations mean? There is also a Christmas tree in your house. Sister, do you buy a new Christmas tree every year? What wishes do you have for our audiences for the coming Christmas?

The Christmas tree can represent many symbols, and people love to have a Christmas tree in their house and I have one, too, because I love the lights and the atmosphere.

I am not shure about, but the Christmas tree may represent the wood of the cross, there Jesus hang when he was crucified and the thorns of this tree can represent the crown of thorns, the Roman soldiers put on the head of Jesus.

Here in Chile, People no only use a tree, they hang a crown of the branches of the christmas tree on their doors, too. And in Germany they have a crown of Christmas tree branches on their table together with four candles for the four weeks before Christmas.

When I was in Europe, I bought a real Christmas tree, here in Chile, we use every year the same.

When I look at Christmas decoration nowadays, I often become sad, because Santa Claus is for the most people more important, than the poor birth of Jesus in the stable and for the most people it is a season for to drink and eat to much and only to look what they get in present.

The coming Christmas we are no longer so comfortable as the Christmas before: We have two great wars without solutions on this world, beside of the wars and political conflicts we always have. We had this year a lot of catastrophic weather condition and unemployment and inflation are increasing globally.

So, we should not use Christmas time to flee away from these problems, but go to him who can solve them and first of all, come to the cross for to get freedom from sin and the eternal life, that Jesus offers to us.

Jesus is the only hope in difficult times, that is why it is important to remember, that he left all the glory he had in heaven before to be born in a stable and to solve the problem we had with God, that he as a holy God cannot accept a sinner in his presence.

I don t know exactly, but maybe the tree represents the wood of the cross where Christ was crucified, too. When he was a baby, the tree of this wood was small, but 30 years later it was strong enough to carry the son of God in crispification.

4. How does the song celebrate the gifts of love, joy, and peace that are associated with the Christmas season?

The song makes it clear, that we get the gifts of love joy and peace only through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

We can go to Galatians 5 in the bible and read that those are the fruits of the Holy Spirit in a person who received Christ and is living in a spiritual manner with him.

Without Christ, we don t get these fruits, even we think, we can get them. It is only a illusion which lasts for a short time, but not forever.

As a fruit of the Holy Spirit, we can have them forever and in any time.

5. What is the role of music and dance in the celebration of Christmas according to the song? Will sister sing this song in approaching Christmas? And dancing?

Singing and dancing in family are activities which you can do with the guests you have on Christmas eve. It is a nice tradition.

We never danced on Christmas, but when I was a Child, my father played the trumpet and it was a very solemn atmosphere in the house. We had to wait until we finished with singing, then we were allowed to open our parcels.

For me on Christmas is important, to worship Jesus first in some songs, and not only eating and open parcels.

6. How does the song encourage people to come together and celebrate during the holiday season?

The song should challenge the people to think about their life at the end of the year, if they would like to go on as last year or if they would like to make a change.

It is nice to have a holiday season, that people apart for to come together and since the father in Heaven has forgiven us through the work of Jesus, we should seek forgiveness, too if we have a conflict or a bitterness with someone around us.

7. What is the message of hope and renewal that is conveyed through the lyrics of " I wish you a merrily Christmas "?

The lyrics tell us, that we not should focus on the presents and material thing, but on the changes, we can make with the help of Jesus in our lives.

8. How can we apply the spirit of giving and generosity that is celebrated in the song to our daily lives throughout the year?

God has prepared us for to do the good works that he has prepared for us before.

So, we don t have to look for what we can do and how we can apply this song. God has prepared something to do for us and the only thing that we have to do is to be ready when God wants us to do a good work. If we are his children, he will guide us through his Holy Spirit when it is time to contribute in something.

9. Please tell our audience about the most meaningful Christmas you have ever had. What were the gifts and blessings you received that time? Where did you spend that Christmas? Hope through your experience can also bring folks blessings and joyful moments.

When I was alone, I once spent the Christmas in the house of a near friend who already died. She asked me to help her to prepare the food and she had a turkey. None of us knew how to prepare it, but we put it in the oven and it was good.

The other guests were people from a lot of different countries, because her husband works at the university and he invited his colleagues.

My friend does not speak English and other guests did not speak German or Spanish, so not all could speak with each other and there was translating necessary in some situations.

I don t remember the gifts on that Christmas, they were not important. The most important thing was, being together and to fellowship with so many people.
